The first meet of this year’s Diamond League takes place on Saturday, 20 April with world champions Mondo Duplantis, Fred Kerley, and Sha’Carri Richardson among those will be seen in action. The Xiamen meet will also mark the beginning of the final preparations for this year’s Paris Olympics that takes place in the months of July and August.
How many Indian athletes will be taking part in the opening round of the 2024 Diamond League in Xiamen?
Triple Jumper Abdul Narangolintevida will be the only Indian in action in the opening round of the 2024 Diamond League in Xiamen. Reigning Olympic and world champion Neeraj Chopra, the first Indian to register a win in the Diamond League, will be seen in action alongside compatriot Kishore Jena in the men’s javelin event in Doha on 10 May.
How many events will this year’s Diamond League have?
The 2024 edition will have 15 events, making it the biggest Diamond League ever. Paris-bound athletes will have as many as 10 events to sharpen their skills in before they head to the French Capitals for the world’s biggest sporting event.
