Life in jail for Karan Oberoi was likened to “hell”, as he described it as a dark and unimaginable phase. Surrounded by hardened criminals, he found himself in a place he never thought he would be in. The actor recalled the fear of not knowing if he would survive each day, facing the possibility of death in those dire conditions. Oberoi went without food for the first seven days and struggled to sleep for the first nine days, leading to a delirious state where he feared he may not make it through.

In a chilling revelation, Karan Oberoi shared that he almost died due to asphyxiation during his time in jail. Despite the hardships he faced, Oberoi managed to survive the ordeal and eventually obtained bail from the Bombay High Court.

The MeToo allegations against Karan Oberoi added to his ordeal, with a woman accusing him of rape and assault between January 2017 and February 2018. The legal battle continued as she filed a second FIR for assault while alleging threats to withdraw her charges. However, the tables turned when the Mumbai Police arrested her for criminal conspiracy and providing false information in the FIR. With failed legal formalities, the woman was fined by the Bombay HC in 2023.
