Rumi’s Journey Hits a Roadblock: Sonia Rathee Talks About Skipping Season 4 in Memory of Siddharth Shukla

In a heartwarming tribute to the late Siddharth Shukla, Ekta Kapoor recently announced that the fourth season of the popular web show Broken But Beautiful will be skipped in honor of the beloved actor. Shukla, who tragically passed away in September 2021, had captured the hearts of fans and colleagues with his stellar performance in the third season of the series, released just a few months before his untimely death.

Sonia Rathee, who portrayed the character Rumi opposite Shukla in Broken But Beautiful 3, expressed her admiration for Kapoor’s decision, describing it as a “brilliant gesture.” Rathee explained, “I don’t think Agastya and Rumi’s story should have gone forward without Siddharth. It wouldn’t have felt right. This is actually a very beautiful homage to him. Ekta knew season four cannot be made with anybody else but him. He definitely deserved an homage and it’s quite beautiful that they decided to do that because he kind of encapsulates what Agastya was, and Rumi’s story can’t go on without him.”

Reflecting on her experience working with Shukla, Rathee fondly recalled how the late actor supported her and helped her overcome nerves on set. She shared a touching moment from filming where Shukla reassured her during a particularly challenging scene, demonstrating his kindness and professionalism.

Rathee also highlighted Shukla’s mentorship and the valuable lessons she learned from him, noting his unmatched aura and positive energy on set. She expressed gratitude for the confidence Shukla instilled in her and emphasized the impact he had on her both professionally and personally.

As the memory of Siddharth Shukla continues to live on in the hearts of his fans and colleagues, Rathee cherishes the time they spent together on set, reflecting on the moments shared with a sense of joy and gratitude. The legacy of Shukla’s talent and kindness remains an enduring presence in the entertainment industry, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working with him.
