Tata Nexon CNG Launch Details and FY2025 Price Announcement

The Tata Nexon compact SUV is set to add another fuel option to its lineup, with the introduction of a CNG powertrain. This will make CNG the fourth fuel option available for the Nexon, alongside petrol, diesel, and EV variants. The upcoming Nexon CNG was previewed as the Nexon iCNG concept at the Bharat Mobility show and will be India’s first turbocharged CNG vehicle.

Key points to note about the Nexon CNG:
1. It will be aimed directly at competing with the Maruti Brezza CNG.
2. The exterior and interior design, as well as the equipment list, will remain the same as the standard Nexon model.
3. The CNG variant will retain the 1.2-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder engine from the petrol models, making it the first CNG vehicle in India with a turbocharged engine.
4. It is speculated that the Nexon CNG may also offer an AMT gearbox option, following in the footsteps of the Tiago and Tigor CNG models.

Once launched, the Nexon will offer a comprehensive range of powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, CNG, and EV variants with multiple gearbox choices. This will set it apart as the only vehicle in India with such a diverse lineup. The Nexon CNG will directly compete with the Brezza CNG in the Indian market.

In addition to the Nexon CNG, Tata Motors has plans to introduce the Curvv electric and ICE variants, as well as the Tata Harrier EV within this financial year. The expansion of the Nexon lineup and the introduction of new models demonstrate Tata Motors’ commitment to offering a variety of innovative and sustainable mobility solutions.
