Yashasvi Jaiswal’s shortcomings revealed leading up to T20 World Cup following disappointing performance in IPL: ‘It was a shot very similar to…’

Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been struggling to find form this season, with inconsistent performances with the bat. He has scored 320 runs at an average of 32 in 11 matches, falling short of expectations. With just one century and a half-century, Jaiswal is now facing scrutiny.

During the match against Delhi Capitals, Jaiswal struggled on a good batting pitch. After hitting a boundary on the first ball, he played an irresponsible shot on the next delivery and was caught for just 4 runs. His vulnerability against left-arm pacers and short balls has become a major concern for India.

Former India opener Aakash Chopra highlighted Jaiswal’s flaws in batting that have been evident this season. He pointed out that Jaiswal has been repeatedly dismissed by left-arm pacers and struggles against short balls.

“In another instance of chasing, Yashasvi Jaiswal fell to a left-arm pacer once again. His vulnerability to short balls has been exposed multiple times, and his dismissal was due to a similar shot yet again,” Chopra stated on his YouTube channel.

In the recent match, Rajasthan Royals faced their second consecutive defeat against Delhi Capitals, who secured a 20-run victory to keep their playoffs hopes alive. Skipper Sanju Samson played a valiant 86-run innings, but the failures of players like Jos Buttler and Riyan Parag led to their downfall.

Chopra noted that the dismissals of Buttler and Parag shifted the momentum in Delhi’s favor, ultimately leading to their victory.
