5 facial yoga techniques for smooth and wrinkle-free skin | Health

In today’s quest for youthful and radiant skin, many are turning to face yoga as a natural alternative to traditional anti-ageing methods like facelifts and Botox injections. This holistic approach to skincare involves specific poses and massages designed to strengthen the facial muscles, reduce fine lines, and promote a sense of relaxation and ease.

Face yoga is not only beneficial for anti-ageing but can also help release tension in areas like the muscles between the eyes and around the temples, providing a healthy glow and a rejuvenated appearance. Vibhuti Arora, a Face Yoga Master and Skin-Tech Expert, has shared with Lifestyle 5 effective face yoga techniques that target fine lines, puffiness, and saggy skin.

1. Forehead Smoother: Place your hands on your forehead with fingertips touching in the middle. Apply gentle pressure as you slide your fingertips outwards towards your temples. Repeat this motion several times to smooth out wrinkles and promote skin elasticity.

2. Cheek Lift: Form an “O” shape with your mouth, then smile as wide as possible while maintaining the “O” shape. Hold this position for a few seconds before relaxing. This exercise helps tone and lift the muscles in your cheeks for a more youthful appearance.

3. Eye Firming: Place your index fingers under your eyebrows and apply slight pressure. Squint your eyes as if trying to close them while resisting the pressure from your fingers. Hold for a few seconds, then release and repeat to firm and tighten the skin around the eyes.

4. Jawline Toner: Tilt your head back slightly and look up towards the ceiling. Jut your lower jaw forward and hold for a few seconds before relaxing. Repeat this movement to strengthen and contour the muscles along your jawline for a more defined profile.

5. Neck Tightener: Sit up straight and tilt your head back, gazing up at the ceiling. Pucker your lips as if attempting to kiss the ceiling, holding this position for a few seconds before releasing. Repeat to tighten and tone the muscles in the neck and chin area for a more sculpted appearance.

By incorporating these simple face yoga exercises into your daily skincare routine, you can potentially reduce the signs of ageing, improve skin elasticity, and achieve a smoother, firmer complexion without invasive procedures. Remember consistency is key, so make sure to practice these techniques regularly for best results.
