Maruti Nexa sales reach 2.5 million in 8.5 years

Since its inception in July 2015, Maruti Suzuki’s premium Nexa retail sales channel has reached a significant milestone by surpassing the 25 lakh-unit mark in India. The latest data reveals that cumulative Nexa vehicle dispatches totaled 25.8 lakh units by the end of March 2024. With additional wholesales in April and May of the same year, the number is estimated to have risen to 26.7 lakh units.

1. The 25 lakh sales milestone was achieved in eight years and six months.
2. Top contributors to Nexa sales include the Baleno, Ignis, and Ciaz models.

Maruti Suzuki’s diversified range of Nexa models, including hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, has been strategically designed to cater to the changing preferences of customers, particularly targeting a younger demographic known as “Young India.”

The Baleno hatchback stands out as the bestseller among all Nexa models, accounting for a significant 56 percent of total Nexa sales by the end of FY2024. Introduced in October 2015, the Baleno has amassed impressive sales figures, with its highest fiscal year sales recorded in FY2019.

In addition to the popular Baleno, other models like the Ignis, Ciaz, Grand Vitara, XL6, and the recently launched Fronx, Jimny, and Invicto have contributed to Nexa’s success in the market. The introduction of factory-fitted CNG offerings for models like the Baleno and XL6, as well as the rapid sales growth of the Fronx compact SUV, indicate the brand’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.

Nexa’s expansion in terms of outlets has also been remarkable, with nearly 500 showrooms established in around 300 cities across the country. Notably, the brand has seen significant demand from non-urban centers, indicating its widespread appeal and accessibility.

Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming release of the Maruti eVX is expected to further elevate the brand’s position in the electric vehicle market.
