Fans sent their best wishes for a speedy recovery to Pathirana.

“Will miss your yorkers,” another user wrote.

“Get well soon Matheesha! Thanks for your brief but memorable performances for CSK this season,” a third fan commented.

CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad had previously mentioned Pathirana’s injury during a match against the Punjab Kings, where he was replaced by English pacer Richard Gleeson. The team later confirmed Pathirana’s departure due to his injury, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Aside from Pathirana, CSK has also faced setbacks with players like Mustafizur Rehman and Deepak Chahar exiting due to various reasons. Pathirana’s injury may affect his chances of participating in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
