The actress revealed that she connects with her character in the sequel on a personal level, describing her role as a headstrong and confident girl who knows exactly what she wants. Indian 2, the sequel to Shankar’s 1996 blockbuster hit, is set to release on July 12. The film, with the tagline Zero Tolerance, promises to be an action-packed thriller with Kamal Haasan reprising his iconic role as Senapathy. Joining him in the cast are Kajal Aggarwal and Siddharth in lead roles.
Production of the film faced setbacks when an accident injured the crew in 2020, and shooting was further delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, filming resumed in 2022, with Shankar balancing his time between Indian 2 and the highly anticipated film Game Changer starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani.
The first part of Indian featured a stellar cast including Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkar, and Kasthuri Shankar alongside Kamal Haasan. The film, with its gripping storyline of an Army veteran turned vigilante, was a massive success, with AR Rahman’s music playing a crucial role in its popularity.
