India’s rising tennis star, Sumit Nagal, has once again proven his mettle on the court by advancing to the semifinals of the ATP 100 Challenger event in Heilbronn, Germany. Nagal’s impressive performance in the quarterfinals saw him defeat Russia’s Ivan Gakhov with a scoreline of 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) in just 82 minutes.

Currently ranked 95th in the world, Nagal is on a mission to earn valuable ranking points to enhance his chances of qualifying for the singles event at the upcoming Paris Olympics, where the men’s draw will feature 64 players. Despite a disappointing early exit from the French Open, Nagal has bounced back strongly and has been in stellar form throughout the week, reaching the semi-finals of the Euro 120,000 tour event.

In his quarterfinal match, Nagal’s dominance was evident as he displayed an impressive first and second serve percentage of 83 and 70, respectively, compared to Gakhov’s 51 and 57.
